Ménez
Hom:
Location:
Take the D887 from Chateaulin to Crozon and branch right after about
11km onto the road which leads up to the summit.
General Info: There is car
parking at the top. Believe it or not there is a
website on the area!
Description:
Ménez Hom is a veritable mountain in Breton terms, reaching an altitude
of 330m. However its attraction is more than just that. It
offers a splendid panoramic vista (see photo) of the area of Brittany around the
Brest peninsula. The area is popular with hang gliders and model
aircraft enthusiasts and a folk
festival is held there every 15th August.
Our
recommendations: Definitely worth a visit for the view and maybe a
brief stroll although we wouldn’t
make a day of it.
For the
children: They will probably enjoy a 30 minute stop!
