How do I set up my PC for optimum viewing?

France for Families has been designed to be viewed with the most commonly used screen resolutions of 800x600 pixels or 1024x768 pixels.  To optimise your browser follow these instructions:

1. Select Start, then Control panel.
2. For Windows XP, select "Appearances and Themes", then
"Change the Screen Resolution", move slider to required resolution and click OK.  Otherwise select "Display", then select the "Settings" tab, move the slider to required resolution and click OK.
To restore the original setting use the same procedure.

Who or what is France For Families Limited?

France For Families Limited is a limited company registered in England and Wales.  It is owned and operated by two Christian families who live in South West Hertfordshire.  If you want to find out more, you can contact us on enquiries@france4families.com.

Does France For Families accept advertising?

What is France For Families Limited's Data Protection Policy?

France for Families values its visitors and has the greatest respect for their privacy.  We personally hate receiving all kinds of junk mail and unwanted telephone sales calls.  So we will treat you with the same respect we would like to be treated ourselves.  And infact it is our legal obligation to do so.

Accordingly we have a strict data protection policy:

- If you send us email we will save the contents of such emails on our systems for an un-determined length of time.  Accordingly such information, including the contents of your email and the address from which it is sent will be retained by France For Families.  However we will never release such information to third parties unless required to do so by a court of law.

- If you send us feedback we will ask for your permission to keep your details on file.  If you do not specifically give your permission we will delete your details from our files once we have dealt with the feedback.

- If you register for our newsletter we will keep your details on our files for the purpose of sending you our newsletter.

- Furthermore, we would like to retain your data in order to build our understanding of the needs and preferences of visitors to France.  From time to time we would like to send you information on products or services from third parties and to forward your details to selected third parties whose products or services may be of interest to you.  However we will only use your details in this way with your express permission.

If you ever receive any unwanted mail from France For Families please let us know urgently and we will investigate the cause and take immediate steps to prevent any re-occurence.

What compensation can I get if I am dissatisfied as a result of France For Families advice?

Please note France For Families' statement on limitation of liability.  We make no charge for the advice given, so we ask you not to expect any compensation if you are unhappy as a result of our advice.  It is given in good faith and we ask that it be received as such too!  If you think any advice is incorrect, please let us know and we will amend the site for the benefit of others.

How do France For Families select the places they list in this site?

We do not receive any payment to list attractions.  The vast majority of them have been visited and really enjoyed by our families.  Some have been recommended by friends and relatives.  Less than 5% of the content has not been visited by us or people we know.  If you disagree with anything - please let us know by sending us your feedback - we want France For Families to reflect the opinions of its users.  Please note we will only make changes if we receive a lot of consistent feedback about a given listing, so please don't be surprised if you don't immediately see any change.

If I think something should be changed or added, how can I achieve this?

France For Families would like to develop to reflect the views not only of its founding families, but of all its visitors.  If you think something is wrong or if you think something should be added to the site, please tell us through our feedback form.  We cannot promise to reflect all feedback, however if we get consistent feedback from multiple sources then we will endeavour to reflect this in changes to the site content.

Can we book holidays through France For Families?

France for Families is not a travel agency and so we will not be able to book any holidays on your behalf.  However we give a massive range of links to travel companies, gite rental agencies, ferry companies, airlines etc......so you can use France For Families as a portal to sites where you will be able to make all your holiday arrangements.  Please note that France For Families cannot accept any liability for your holiday experience.  You must satisfy yourself about the service provided by each company before you make a reservation.  However, if you have any bad experiences, please let us know and we will consider changing the site content if we get a lot of negative feedback about any company.

How quickly will France For Families respond to email and telephone calls?

On occasions we receive a high quantity of email traffic.  We will endeavour to respond as quickly as possible to all email and at least within 3 working days.  To help us, please make sure you supply us with all necessary information together with your enquiry.

We will not respond to telephone calls except in exceptional cases - if you want a response you must make sure that you leave a very clear email address when you call.  And we will reply by email with the same target turnaround time.

In order to assist our readers who have difficulty with access we are attempting to provide information to give you an advance indication of whether an attraction may be accessible or not.

Please read our statement on limitation of liability which applies.  We give this information in good faith, based on all available information at our disposal, some of which is provided by the visitor owner and is hence not within our control.  If you find information to be incorrect or mis-leading, then please let us know so we can update the information for the benefit of other visitors.

We have defined 3 categories:

Accessible for allAccessible for all – means that the attraction makes specific provision for disabled visitors.
 

Partially accessiblePartially accessible – means that provision is made for disabled visitors although access may not be possible to all parts of the attraction.
